Texas Burger Recipe: The Making Process
For the best hamburger in Texas and beyond, start by brushing your grill with some oil so that the meat does not stick when cooking; proceed to heat the grill to medium-high.
Form the Patties
In order to make our Texas burger patties, we get a large enough bowl and then combine the jalapeños, chuck, pepper, chili powder, and salt. Try to handle it as little as possible and then shape the mix into a patty that fits the size of the bun. With this Texas burger recipe, we were able to get six patties. Proceed to cover them with a loose wrap and set them aside.
To form our patties in order to mimic the best hamburger in Texas, we grab a handful of meat and mold it gently into the shape of a ball. After that, toss the ball from hand to hand a couple of times, back and forth (similar to how you’d prepare a tortilla). Then, pat the meat back into a flat disc; at the same time, make sure to corral the edges with your thumb to keep them uniform and smooth. Finally, dent your thumb into the center of the patty which allows you to produce a cute patty while making sure you didn’t overhandle the meat.
The Grilling Step
Mix the onions, cheese, and barbecue sauce all together and set aside.
Now put the patties you’ve made onto the grill rack and start cooking. Keep turning the patties until they’re cooked enough to your personal taste. Usually, this should be 5-7 minutes on each side. During the final three minutes of the grilling process, take small amounts of the barbecue cheese mix and place them in equal amounts on each patty.
Take the buns you’ve already cut and place them on the outer edges of your grilling rack so that they can toast lightly in the last two minutes.
Finally, it’s time to assemble the burgers. Put a layer of the barbecue kettle chips on the bottom bun and add a patty covered in cheese mix on top. This should be followed by an equal amount of lettuce and a layer of pickles. Cover with the top bun and serve with a pitcher of tea or ice-cold beer.
